WOTA (Wrecks Other Than Aircraft) - Okay, it's an aircraft, but not the WWII P-64 crash we were looking for that particular day. [FYI - The P-64 was essentially a AT-6 Texan turned into an armed fighter and one of these rare WWII planes crashed near our home] While looking for the P-64 crash, we found this remote controlled power-glider airplane (an RC Thunder Tiger, to be exact). The man who'd lost this airplane from a nearby RC-airfield had left a sticker on the plane with his address, so we returned the plane to its rightful owner. It had only been sitting in the desert for a few months and was in very good shape. arizona plane crash, arizona wrecks, plane crash in arizona.
WOTA - a very surprising find!

This data plate is from a J-79 General Electric cut-away instructional engine. We were lucky enough to work on this engine as high school students in an Area Vocational School program for initial Air Frame/Power Plant instruction training. The program did not last beyond our senior year, but we were grateful to our wise instructor, Mr. Bruce Bethancourt.
