Wreck Chasing Resources
The dreaded mylar balloon! From the naked eye, even through binoculars, this common desert dweller can make you hike miles out of your way in search of aircraft wreckage. The mylar balloon is much despised by wreck chasers.
Don't fall for it!!

WOTA - Wreck Other Than Airplane. We spotted this WOTA while looking for a WWII P-64 crash site (P-64 is an armed T-6). We hiked a very long way hoping this was an airplane site, but it turned out to be a tin roof from a shed, laying out in the wilderness in the middle of nowhere. This is a classic "WOTA."
A very enticing WOTA
